He was predeceased by: his parents, Gid Ison and Gracie Combs Ison; his son Dennis "Seymour" Ison; his stepson Richard Wayne Cupps; and his siblings, Clyde, John D., Forest, Elijah, Rob, Danis, Dennis, Claude, Everett, Gail Ison, Alice Faye Keith, Mable Fowler and Viola "Buggie" Adams.

He is survived by: his wife Grace Ann Ison; and his siblings, Gideon Ison (Linda), Ival Ison (Debbie) and Louise Adams. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews.
