He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Rucker Skaggs; his daughter Shannon Burd; his parents, Herman Ray and Effie Mae McNear Skaggs; and his siblings, Raymond, James Skaggs, Joyce Dones and Virginia Gill.
He is survived by: his children, Todd Skaggs (Laurie) of Buffalo, Kyle Skaggs (Heather) of Upton, Brooke Albert (Taylor) of Hodgenville, Taylor Dillander (Sam) of Shepherdsville, Katie Burd of Hodgenville and Casey Burd (Brandon) of Leitchfield; his siblings, Donald Wayne "Duck" Skaggs of Hodgenville and Mary Ann Skaggs of Clarkson; his grandchildren, Ashley Huckleby, Leah Martin, Jastyn Sweet, Evelyn Skaggs, Kyleigh Skaggs, Levi Skaggs, Ethan Goodman and Landon Turner; his great grandchildren, Grayson Purvis, Bryleigh Purvis, Addison Huckleby, Mason Huckleby, Madeline Martin, Wade Albert, Tagan Albert, Liam Milliner, Gannon Burd and Tatum Dillander; his close friend Thomas Jackson; and his pet Duke.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home (208 W Water St, Hodgenville, KY 42748). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Salem Christian Church (3270 Salem Church Rd, Hodgenville, KY 42748).
