We announce the death of Benjamin Franklin May (Hopkinsville, Kentucky), who passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 82. Benjamin will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosie Lee Ray and Johnny May; his sister Irma J. May; and his stepdaughter Alessandra Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte May; his son Benjamin F. "Frankie" May (Misty); his stepchildren, Anna M. Outlaw, Desiree Adams, Alesandro Shepherd and Russell Shepherd; and his brother Slyvester May. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gamble Funeral Home (1311 Liberty St, Hopkinsville, KY 42240). A masonic service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West (5817 Fort Campbell Blvd, Hopkinsville, KY 42240).
