He was predeceased by: his parents, Fair Prater and Lucille Ousley Prater; and his grandsons, Brayden DeVon and Jordan Ray Prater. He is survived by: his wife Betty Sturgill Prater; his sons, Justin Prater (Angel) of Hueysville, KY and Brandon Sturgill (Robyn) of Lackey, KY; his brothers, Timothy Prater (Pam) of Hueysville, KY and Jeff Prater (CeCe) of Hueysville, KY; his grandchildren, Joshua Sturgill (Savannah), Zachary Tyler Sturgill, Katelynn Renae Sturgill, Kelsey Shae Sturgill, Chloe Lucille Prater, Kenslee Nicole Prater, Thomas Dale Dorris and Dylan Dorris; and his great grandchildren, Carson, Bella, Clay, Amelia and Mahayla.
