We bid farewell to DeVon Prater of Hueysville, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 7, 2025 at the age of 72. DeVon touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fair Prater and Lucille Ousley Prater; and his grandsons, Brayden DeVon and Jordan Ray Prater. He is survived by: his wife Betty Sturgill Prater; his sons, Justin Prater (Angel) of Hueysville, KY and Brandon Sturgill (Robyn) of Lackey, KY; his brothers, Timothy Prater (Pam) of Hueysville, KY and Jeff Prater (CeCe) of Hueysville, KY; his grandchildren, Joshua Sturgill (Savannah), Zachary Tyler Sturgill, Katelynn Renae Sturgill, Kelsey Shae Sturgill, Chloe Lucille Prater, Kenslee Nicole Prater, Thomas Dale Dorris and Dylan Dorris; and his great grandchildren, Carson, Bella, Clay, Amelia and Mahayla.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Hall Funeral Home (331 KY-122, Martin, KY 41649). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at the Highland Memorial Park (551 Kentucky Rte 2275, Staffordsville, KY 41256).
