He was predeceased by : his parents, Ruck Woods and Bertha Woods (Jones); his wife Mary Woods; his children, Sherman Woods, James Gibson and Theresa Woods; and his siblings, Helen Mullins, Zuba Begley, Daisy Fee, Sherman Woods, Richard Woods and Robert Woods.

He is survived by : his daughter Cynthia Frederick (Ron); and his grandchildren, Tonya Henson, Isaiah, Hope Hoard, Whitney Woods, Matthew Frederick, Mary Cronkhite, Daniel, Katia Cole and Kevin Thacker II. He is also survived by great grand children, and several neices and nephews.
