He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence J. Pauley and Alice C. Newsome Pauley; his son William Ray Pauley; and his siblings, William "Buzz" Pauley, Tommy Pauley, Jay Pat McCoy, Ray Carlos McCoy and Geneva Pauley.

He is survived by : his wife Judy Faye Fletcher Pauley; his son Clarence Michael Shane Pauley of Inez, KY; his siblings, Lonnie Mitchell Pauley of Inez, KY, Ronnie Pauley of Bastian, VA, Regina Steward of Peterstown, WV and Carol Demmitt of Colorado; and his granddaughter Kelsey Dawn Pauley.
