He was predeceased by : his parents, Charlie Thompson and Erie C. Turner Thompson; his wife Wilma Hall Thompson; his daughter Diane Youngman; and his siblings, Eugene Thompson and Cora Sebastian.

He is survived by : his children, Debbie (Dave Lawson), Donna (Bill Bates), Darlene Hamlin of Erlanger, Sandra K. Oppenheimer of Florence, Kentucky., Larry Hall of Crittenden and Wayne (Jennifer Hall) of Butler, Kentucky.; and his brother Paul Thompson of Butler. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
