He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Lay and Anna Lue Winkler Lay; his siblings, Jewell Dean Edwards and Doyle Lay; and his grandson Dalton Douglas Isaacs.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hamm Lay; his daughters, Lisa Karen Long (Gary) and Estill Co; his sister Teresa Stamper; his grandchildren, Brittany Muncie (Dylan) and Kristopher Long (Danny); his great grandchildren, Xadyn Long, Maxwell Long, Grant Long, Hudson Muncie, Lincoln Muncie, Jansyn Wiseman and Ryan Cowgill; and his niece Kimberly Koch.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel (99 Cedar Grove Rd, Irvine, KY 40336).
