He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Carter and Ruby Mae Knight Carter; and his siblings, Charles Harold Carter and Shirley Mae Angel. He is survived by: his wife Karen Carter; his children, Dwayne Carter of Owensboro, Elliott Carter of Louisville and Emily Carter of Owensboro; his stepchildren, Sawyer Whitaker of Island, Austin Whitaker of Island, Tosha Gilpin (Ty) of Portland, Randi Whitaker (Sam Coots) of Turney and Madison Whitaker of Island; and his siblings, Carroll Carter (Vendi) of Island, Jo Ann Moore of West Louisville, Deborah Carter of Calhoun, Donna Burden (Jerry) of Calhoun and Sherry Capps of Calhoun. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; a great-grandson.
