He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Jewell and Lillie Mae Ritchie Jewell. He is survived by: the mother of his children Virginia Hawkins DeRue; his children, Chris Jewell, Jason K. Jewell and Tahereh D. Gates (Bill); his sister Glenda Dolan; and his grandchildren, Cody A. Bandy, Jordan X. Bandy, Miranda L. Gates and Tyler B. Jewell. He is also survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home (409 KY-15, Jackson, KY 41339). A memorial service was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
