She was predeceased by: her parents, Hager B. Phipps and Maggie Wheeler Phipps; her husband Dr. John Clay Rice; her son Hager Kelly Rice; her grandchildren, Kevin Matthew Rice and Catherine Elyse Watts; and her siblings, Donald Gordon Phipps of Bill, Gerald Phipps and Clara Phipps Fallen.

She is survived by: her children, Lawrence Rice of Jackson, KY, Frank Rice (Michele) of Lawrenceburg, KY., Angela Rice of Richmond, KY and Gerri Chapman of Jackson, KY.; her daughter-in-law Pam Rice of Richmond, KY.; and her grandchildren, Karisha Friley (Chris), Jonathan Chapman (Kendra), David Andrew Rice, James Clay Rice (Wendy), Sarah Kelly Stewart (Josh), Larry Rice (Brittani), Jeremy Rice (Jerri), Elizabeth Garrett (Quill), Eddie Rice (Kate) and Brandy Rice. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
