He was predeceased by: his brother Jack West; his grandson Joseph Allen Bratcher; and his parents, John West and Dorothy Branch West. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ruth Leech West; his daughters, Lea Ann Karlovetz (Erik) of Sedalia, KY, Mary Denise Bratcher of Hot Springs, AR and Stacie Marie Keller (Shannon) of Cadiz, KY; his brothers, Michael West (Kay) of Mayfield, KY and Mitchell West (Edith) of Fallon, NV; and his grandchildren, River Warren, Paige Karlovetz, Ryan Douglas, Cody Chapman and Ashlyn Keller. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
