He was predeceased by: his wife Deborah Sue Sheffel (Davison); his parents, Wayne Sheffel and Fern Sheffel (Readout); and his siblings, Tom Sheffel, Mark Sheffel and Delores Neace.
He is survived by: his children, P. J. Sheffel (Mandi) and Kristy Sheffel Deep; his grandchildren, Madeline, Katie and Tripp; and his siblings, Dave Sheffel, Don Sheffel, Paul Sheffel, Alan Sheffel, Mike Sheffel, Eric Sheffel, Susie Geiger, Becky Mulroy, Vicki Sheffel and Melody Sheffel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home (409 KY-15, Jackson, KY 41339). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sheffel Cemetery.
