He was predeceased by: his parents, David S. Newswanger and Alice K. Newswanger (Ringer); his son Matthew Newswanger; his brothers, John Newswanger and Lester Newswanger; his grandchildren, Nolan Zimmerman and Alta Kate Hoover; and his great grandchild Andrea Zimmerman.
He is survived by: his wife Alta H. Newswanger; his children, Lawrence Newswanger (Marjorie), Delton Newswanger (Janet), Michael Newswanger (Ada Mae), Peter Newswanger (Lucinda), Randall Newswanger (Edna Sue), Shane Newswanger (Louise), Liesa Hoover (James), Amy Zimmerman (John David), Virginia Martin (Roy), Bonita Martin (Clifford), Sheri Hoover (Harlan) and Beth Ann Snyder (Michael); his daughter-in-law Katie Mae Newswanger; his siblings, Leroy Newswanger, Amos Newswanger (Edna), Leon Newswanger (Diane), Elsie Ramer (Morris), Ruth Newswanger, Susie Shirk (John Aaron) and Faye Esh (David); and his sisters-in-law, Mabel Newswanger and Bertha Newswanger.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newswanger Residence (560 Jeff Adams Rd, Pembroke, KY 42266). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church (2412 Vaughns Grove Fairview Rd, Elkton, KY 42266).
