He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Raffo and Flossie Florene Simms (Hardin); his stepfather James Stinnett; and his brother John Robert "Bobby" Simms (Jean Simms). He is survived by: his wife Dianna Simms (Neff); his children, Garry Wayne Simms, Jr. (Abbie), Zack Simms and Ashley Larson (Tyler); his granddaughters, Kaelyn Whitehouse, Venice Larson, Allie Simms and Piper Simms; his nephews, Bryan Simms (Sandi) and Robbie Simms (Jeannie); his great-nephews, Tyler, Tanner, Trevor and Evan Simms; and his great-niece Emily Simms.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home (10600 Taylorsville Rd, Jeffersontown, KY 40299). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
