He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Schafer and Jeanetta Frederick Schafer; and his sister Brenda Case. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hughes Schafer; his stepdaughters, Jeanne Elliott and Kimberly Willhoite (Rick); his grandchildren, Zack (Yissel), Brandon, Ryan, Keri (Zach) and Marissa; his great grandchildren, Adam, Aiden and Hudson; and his siblings, Clyde (Anna), Lewis (Shelia) and Rosie Seitz (Larry).
