He was predeceased by : his parents, Virgil Hess and Lucy Hess (Layne); his wife Shirley Hess (Varney); his son Jimmy Dean Hess; and his siblings, Jim, Ray (June Hess), Sue Hess, Gearldine Hess and Pauline Thacker.
He is survived by : his daughter Angela Chaffins (Paul) of Kimper, KY; his sisters, Jean Adkins of Feds Creek, KY and Marie Hess of Marion Va; his grandchildren, Sidney Hurley (Cory), Skylar Chaffins (Abigail) and Samuel Chaffins; and his great grandchildren, Hunter and Kaylee Hurley.
