We announce the death of Helen Marie Travis of Kuttawa, Kentucky, who passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 92. Helen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvas Guess and Marie McDonald Guess; her husband Lonnie Franklin Travis; her daughter Barbara Guess Easley; her brothers, Ricky, Kenneth, Bobby Lee and JC Guess; and her granddaughter Shallyn Martin.
She is survived by: her children, Shannon Williams (Steve) of Texas, Darlene Pool of Eddyville, Kent Martin (Phyllis) of Fredonia and Larry Travis (Judy) of Kuttawa; her brother Donald Guess of Fredonia; and her grandchildren, Heath Faughn, Chad Faughn, Paige Williams, Brooke Alexander, Megan Radivonyk, Robin Pool, Angela Crowell, Kevin Floyd, Tony Floyd, Matthew Travis and Michael Travis. She is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lakeland Funeral Home (1133 US-62, Eddyville, KY 42038). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
