With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kurt David Engelhardt of La Center, Kentucky, born in Bloomington, Illinois, who passed away on November 12, 2023 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Douglas G. Engelhardt and Charlotte A. Engelhardt. He is survived by : his daughters, Korrie Purcell (Brian) of Kevil, KY and Victoria Engelhardt of Berkeley, CA; his grandsons, Mason Purcell and Bobby Purcell of Kevil, KY; his former life partners, Cindy Engelhardt of Kevil, KY and Tina Story of Benton, KY; and his siblings, Stephen Engelhardt (Diane) of Bloomsbury, PA, Kyna Engelhardt Ransom (Mark) of Sheridan, CO and Leslie Levey (Alan) of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude or to Grace Church of La Center Worship Team.

“Kurt was a good friend since the first week he moved to Paducah in the early seventies. We both had a deep love for music and that bonded us through the decades. He was kind and generous and loved his family. He was very proud of his daughters and grandsons. I will miss him greatly.”
