He was predeceased by : his father Richard Abney; his children, Nathan Aaron and Emmaline Rose Abney; his brother Jason Abney; and his grandparents, Riley, Rosie Abney, Sam and Irene Woosley.

He is survived by : his daughter Laurel Isabella Abney; the mother of his children Melissa Newton Abney; his nephews, Ethan Riley Abney and Fredrick Michael Dunn; his uncles, David Woosley (Nancy), Wendell Woosley (Joyce) and Cornell Woosley (Cheryl); and his sister-in-law Amy Abney. He is also survived by many cousins, extended family and life-long friends.
