It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Birdie Murphy of Lancaster, Kentucky, who passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Johnson and Mattie Case Johnson; her husband Lucian Murphy; and her siblings, Nellie Wilson, Georgia Bence, Brenda Burchfield, Billy Joe Johnson, Oscar Johnson, Jr. and Charlie Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Wayne Murphy of Lebanon, Ohio and Deborah Noel of Richmond, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Brian Noel, Heather Kirsch, Brandy Luken, Michael Murphy and Austin Murphy; and her sisters, Mildred Powell of Alabama and Lillie Miller of Junction City. She is also survived by her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
