He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Hunt McMurtry and Ruth Fitzgerald McMurtry; his wife Jackie Prewitt McMurtry of Lancaster; his children, Jason McMurtry (Clare) of Lancaster and Jana Stiles (Greg) of Lancaster; his siblings, Cynthia Parker (Ray) and Carr McMurtry; and his grandchildren, Lilly Stiles, Olivia Stiles, Alice McMurtry, Lainey McMurtry and John Clay McMurtry.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Jay's memory can be made to the Garrard County Homeless Shelter.
