He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Powers Shingleton and Louise Nichols Shingleton; his daughter Mary Beth Nichols; and his siblings, Mary Lee Shingleton, Nancy Copeland, Alice Mooreland, Becky Sue Reed, Billy P. Shingleton, Everett Shingleton, Ernest Shingleton, Eddie Shingleton, Gerald Shingleton and Jackie Shingleton.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Libby Shingleton; his children, Rick Libby (Sarah), Oscar Wayne Shingleton, Alice Proctor (Darryl) and Joyce Shingleton; and his brother Earl Shingleton (Jane). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home (701 N Main St, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
