He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Holbert and Generose Brown Brian; his wife Marcella Louise Shepherd Brian; his son William Robert Brian; his granddaughter Christina Marie Swarm; and his siblings, Beverly Waters, Peggy Boone, Ronald and Philip Brian.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Brian (Debbie Anne), Stephen Louis Brian, Theresa Reynolds (Tommy) and Joyce Gail Terrazas (Raymond); and his brothers, Stephen Roger Brian (Diane) and James Louis Brian. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
