He was predeceased by : his parents, Virgil Hayes and Sarah Bedelia Hayes (Wheatley); his wife Linda Diane Hayes (Brady); and his brother Lawrence Emerson Hayes. He is survived by : his stepchildren, Renee Filiatreau (Tony), Jessica Farris, Steven Beard (Jenna) and Jessaca Hanna (Jim); his niece Victoria Lynn Hayes; and his nephews, Lawrence Emerson Hayes, Jr. (Suzanne) and John Richard Hayes. He is also survived by 13 stepgrandchildren, three great nephews, and one great niece.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Dementia.
