She was predeceased by: her parents, Ohrious Porter and Helen Porter; her husband William "Candy" Spaulding; her children, John Washington and Thelma Washington; and her siblings, Beatrice Washington, Susan Yocum, Margaret Spalding, Adrian Porter, J. L. Porter, Neal Porter and Frank Porter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shawna Spaulding and Shauntel Spaulding; her sister Nannie McKay; her grandsons, Nathan Washington and Jason Washington; and her close friends, Tony Furmon and Mary Jean Smith. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, a host of great- grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
