He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Burress and Eva Ellen Cox Burress; his stepfather Burton Brooks; and his sisters, Frances Abell and Mary Catherine Burress.
He is survived by: his wife Flo Burress; his children, Mindy Chesser (Bradley) of Bloomfield and Greg Burress (Patricia) of San Antonio, Texas; and his sisters, Joann Brooks of Louisville and Janet Witherington (George) of Winterhaven, Florida.. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
