It is with sadness that the passing of Joe Matthew Johnson of Leburn, Kentucky is shared. Joe, born on November 19, 1964, passed away on September 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph "Joe" Johnson and Sarah Ann Hall Johnson; his son Jerry Lee Johnson; and his sisters, Kandi Bernell Slone, Lisa Maylene Johnson-Green and Leigh Johnson Conley.
He is survived by: his wife Melissa Darlene Slone Johnson; his sons, Jared Matthew Johnson (Alexis) and Christopher Paul Johnson (Brandy); his siblings, Ricky Johnson (Pauline) and Sharon Lynn Slone; and his grandchildren, Hunter Cash Johnson, Riley Ann Johnson, Lia Marie Schmidt, Kayden Joshua Loy Johnson, Autumn Virginia Johnson, Tori Elaine Johnson and Amelia Gray Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home - Hindman Chapel (125 Parks Branch Rd, Hindman, KY 41822). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, please bring some type of finger food to share if you would like to stay and eat or if you prefer, you may donate snacks/water to the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center, Hazard, Kentucky in honor of Joe Matthew Johnson if you so choose.
