He was predeceased by : his parents, Leland Murrell and Hallie Elizabeth Parker Canter; his wife Margaret Welling; his brothers, George, Robert and Wayne Canter; and his pet Poncho.

He is survived by : his siblings, Philip Canter of Ormond Beach, FL and Gerri Powell of Cecilia, KY; and his pets, Buffy and Lucy.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Dermitt Funeral Home (306 W Main St, Leitchfield, KY 42754). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
