He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Metcalfe and Minta McDonald Metcalfe; his siblings, Roger Metcalfe and Margaret Metcalfe; and his close friend Loretta Huffman.
He is survived by: his sister Wanda Hill of Fairdale, KY; his nieces and nephews, Gary "Monk" Metcalfe of Leitchfield, Tracy Metcalfe of Leitchfield, Thomas W. Hill (Joselyn) of Fairdale, KY, Tammy Wright (Steve) of Mebane, NC and Jennifer Wilk (Ronald) of Gansevoort, NY; and his great-nieces, Makayla and McKenna.
