James Murrell Blessitt Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Murrell Blessitt (Leitchfield, Kentucky), born in Louisville, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 16, 2026 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Murrell Blessitt and Linda Lindsey-Salls; his siblings, Jeffrey Blessitt and Robin Blessitt; his niece Linda Tran; and his significant other Tami Powell.

He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda Basham (Bobby) of Hardinsburg; his sister Terri Riley (Patrick) of California; his nephew Jeffrey Blessitt (Holly) of Leitchfield; his grandchildren, Lelamae, Jerry Majors and Luna Rae Green; his great grandchildren, Amanda and Savannah Powell; and his pet Foxxy.

Cremation was chosen and expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
