He was predeceased by: his father Roy Kenneth Mattingly; and his stepparents, Walter Gipson and Gerri Lush. He is survived by: his wife Sue Griffin of Leitchfield; his children, Jonathan Mattingly (Chelsi) of Irvington, KY, Jeremy Burden of Leitchfield, Johnathan Burden of Leitchfield, Cory Thomason of West Point, KY and Jennifer Maples (Keith Joiner) of Sunfish, KY; his mother Paulette Gipson of Falls; and his siblings, Leonard Miller of Falls and Keneta Stevenson (Misty Fentress) of Leitchfield. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dermitt Funeral Home (306 W Main St, Leitchfield, KY 42755). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
