It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Young of Lewisport, Kentucky, who passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Young and Leola Bolin Young; his wife Mary Evelyn Young; his son-in-law Billy Gillians; and his siblings, Gilbert Young, Lucile McFall, David Young, Margie Pate, Donna Purcell, Ruth Lechner and Karen Young.
He is survived by: his children, Charlotte Kerr (Bob), Cindy Cox (Glen), Robin Gillians and Toby Gray (Vicki); and his grandchildren, Raven Gillians, Robbie Kerr, Dawn Evans, Jaysen Kerr, Angelia Gray, Evelyn Ditto and Athena Young. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, January 15th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gibson & Son Funeral Home (315 Caroline St, Lewisport, KY 42351). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at the Lewisport Cemetery.
