He was predeceased by: his parents, Bluford Adkins and Josie Scifres Adkins; his wife Ella Adkins; his son Mark Adkins; his granddaughter April Adkins; his great grandchild Rowan Adkins; and his siblings, Sammy Adkins, Marlene McCaslin, Mary Jo Estes, Effie Powers, Martha Husk and Dolores Boling.

He is survived by: his children, Neal Adkins, William "Bill" Adkins, Aimee Frank (Richard) and Kathy Adkins (Mark Estes). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
