He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Franklin Howard and James Norris Gray. He is survived by: his wife Cassandra Henry; his children, Keturah, Rebekah (Ben Henley), Mary Bruce (Timothy Alford) and Carl; his grandchildren, Gray, Virginia and Stella Alford; and his siblings, Julia Gray Navolio (Jim), Elisabeth Gray McKeachie (William N.), Jim (Eric), Franklin (Vanessa Wells-Gray) and Stephen (Lisa Gumm-Gray). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
