He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Day and Herma Day; his son Kelly J. Day; and his wife Linda Day. He is survived by: his daughters, Diana Lynn Cook (Michael) of Lexington and Denise Charlene Knapp (David) of Asheville; his grandchildren, Joshua Cook (Britni), Lee Cook (Rachel), Zachary Day (Mary), Caitlyn Day, Nicholas Knapp and McKinley Knapp; his great grandchildren, Maison, Levi, Solomon and Dante; his brother Douglas Day; his sister-in-law Valerie Day of Nicholasville, Kentucky.; and his former wife Verda Lee Mundy (Christopher) of Nashville, Tennessee..
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Lexington Police Benevolent Fund.
