He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann Louise Ball and Thomas Cleary; his son Michael Cleary; his brother Terry Cleary; and his stepfather Eugene Ball.

He is survived by: his son Brian Cleary (Piper); his daughter-in-law Mary Cleary; his sister Tomi Salzmann (Tom); his grandchildren, Dana Maynard (Spencer), Samantha Sweeney (Jeremy), Elijah, McKenzie, Amelia and Olivia Cleary; and his great grandchild Myra Maynard.
