He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Spencer and Candus Spencer; his siblings, Fosteen Fields and Bill; his siblings-in-law, Barbara Spencer and Gene Schafer; and his nephew Charles "Chuck" Fields, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Godsey Spencer; his sister Jill Schafer; his children, Kelly Spencer (Patrick Piccininno), Kari Spencer Mincey (Timothy Mincey) and Todd Spencer (Sara Danaher Spencer); his grandchildren, Jaylynn (Chris), John, Lauren (Naudy), Cole and Caroline; and his great grandchildren, Ariah and Amaya.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Man O War Church (1501 Trent Blvd, Lexington, KY 40515). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Man O War Church or Bluegrass Care Navigators, whose hospice team provided care and support to Dennis and his family.
