It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Brashear (Lexington, Kentucky), who passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, G. D. Brashear and Eva Ross Brashear. He is survived by: his wife Blanca Irene Alejandro Brashear; his brother Leon Brashear; his siblings-in-law, Lois Johnson Brashear and C. M. Kim, MD; his children, Deanna Jean Brashear Katko (Nick) and Thomas George Brashear; his great grandchildren, Zaida Lu Katko, Noah Leland Katko and Asa Huw Alejandro Katko; his sister-in-law Doris Alejandro Kim; his sibling's children, Eva Gail Brashear Felix (Russell), Samuel Richard Brashear, Robert Leon Brashear (Susan), Brian Kim, Warren Kim (Sharon Bing), Leslie Kim, Emily Salansky (Nick) and Jennifer Frederick Lovely (Ross); and his cousins, Nathaniel Quisenberry, Alois McIntyre Moore (Bill), Gail Brashear Combs (Ralph), Sandra Quisenberry Bond, David Quisenberry, Brenda Brashear Nease Bersaglia (Anthony) and Deborah Brashear Fugate. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
