We bid farewell to Gary Thornberry of Lexington, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 2, 2026 at the age of 76. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bowman and Ocie Bowman of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.; and his brothers, James Bowman Jr. and Stuart Bowman. He is survived by: his wife Penny Thornberry; his son Frank Thornberry (Melanie); his grandchildren, Jackson, Emily Elizabeth and Rhett of Danville, Kentucky.; and his siblings, Doug Bowman, Keith Bowman, Karen McDonald, Ann Hood and Kim Halvorson.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to Bluegrass Care Navigators of the Hospice of the Bluegrass, Inc., in Gary's memory so others may receive the kind and professional care that supported Gary and his family during his final weeks.
