He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Walter Young and Mattie Lou Young (Quarles); his siblings, George Walter Young Jr. "Pee Wee", Sally Diane Robertson and Daniel Young; his wife Roslyn Young; his daughter Shantel Jehan Young; his son-in-law Michael Lee Dever; and his grandchildren, Alexus Stokley, Jalon Campbell, Khalifah Harper of Andre's Dever, Josiah Garcia, Nasir Harper, Elijah "Malik" Harper, Micah Harper, Naomi Dever, Amya Dever and Xavier Dever. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Even in death his love for others' lives on through his donation to the 16 th largest organ procurement organization in the United States of America, Network for Hope.
