She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell R. Hurrell and Ella M. Hurrell (Northrup); her husband John Ute (Lexington); her children, John Lee Ute, Jr. and Candace Lynn Maxey; and her siblings, Walter Hurrell, Jim Rice, Russell "Butch" Hurrell and Albert Hurrell.
She is survived by: her daughter Joni Pfeiffer (Frank); her grandchildren, Joseph Pfeiffer (Cara), Amanda Fraley (C. Daniel), Nathaniel Pfeiffer (Danielle), Lindsey Whitehead (Joseph), Jeff Barker (Ali), Jennifer Walton (Terry), Adam Zartman, Dustin Zartman, Matthew Zartman (Erica) and Ryan Zartman (Alyssa); her daughter-in-law Donna Ute-Deaton; her sisters, Jane Heflen (Gerald) and Mary Fankhauser (Bob); and her siblings-in-law, Bonnie Hurrell and Doug Dotson (Kim). She is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield First Friends Church c/o the Education Fund to help continue supporting the programs and children Hazel held dear.
