It is with sadness that the passing of Jack E. Carpenter of Lexington, Kentucky is shared. Jack, born on May 26, 1944, passed away on August 8, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack D. Carpenter and Roberta Hicks Carpenter; his former wife Betty Carpenter; his brothers, Robert Hall, William Carpenter and Joe Smouse; and his stepsons, Roy Homan, Jr. and Michael Holman.

He is survived by: his brother Scott Smouse of Lexington; his stepchildren, Charmaine Stewart (late Gerald McLean) of Columbia, KY, Mark Ward (Nancy) of Lexington, Gary Ward (Lori) of Lexington and Donnie Ward (Jennifer) of Lexington; and his aunts, Edna Turner of Lexington and Ann Hilan of Mt. Sterling. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Meals on Wheels or the Lexington Humane Society.
