He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Hart Stokley and Alma Jordan Stokley; his wife Patricia Polly Stokley (Pat); and his sisters, Alma Dunn (Tom Dunn) and Joanne Elam (James Elam).

He is survived by: his children, Dr. Karen Stokley Hill (Brian), Dr. Kim Stokley Winchester (Tim) and Ralph Stokley (Cecile); his grandchildren, Christopher Hill (Lain), Melissa Hill Doss (Daniel), Dr. Rachael Winchester Hayes (Calvin), Megan Winchester, Graham Winchester (Natalie), Connor Stokley, Jack Stokley and Callahan Stokley Howard (Nick); and his sister-in-law Janet Polly Miller (Leonard). He is also survived by uncle to his niece and nephews.
