She was predeceased by: her parents, George Sehorn Petit and Rosie Petit Thomas; her husband Dr. Carl Fohl Essig; and her daughter Kitty Gail Marshall. She is survived by: her son Kerry Lyle Tate of Atlanta, GA.; her stepdaughters, Loris Sherman (Gary) of Somerset, KY, Judith Jackson (Jerry) of Noblesville, IN and Ellen Wallberg (Larry) of Lexington, KY.; and her granddaughter Katrina Dailey of Lexington, KY. She is also survived by her two grandsons, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
