Though Joel may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joel touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gayle Lee Cook and Wilma Harris Cook. He is survived by: his sisters, Connie Lomax (Kevin) of San Antonio, TX and Lisa Thurman (Greg) of Lawrenceburg; and his close friend Mary Dean Vertuca of Lexington. He is also survived by four nephews, one niece, five great nephews, and one great niece.
