He is survived by: his siblings, Samuel Blanton (Texas), Carol Blanton (Lexington) and Teri Blanton (Berea). He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews; fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
