It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Louise Freeman Nelson (Lexington, Kentucky), who passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Gary Chandler Nelson; and her parents, Raymond Freeman and Bertie Freeman. She is survived by: her children, Jacqueline Chandler Nelson Ward (Doug), Joe Ray Nelson (Jayme), Hillary June Nelson Tanksley (Keith) and Christian Nelson Melton (Chris); her grandchildren, Chandler Ward, Ellen Vogt, Audrey Lewis, Sawyer Nelson, Cooper Nelson, David Tanksley, Nathan Tanksley, Isabelle Tanksley, Caleb Melton and Lilly Melton; and her great grandchildren, Abel, Bennett, Coen Tanksley, Louis Vogt and John Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital or the American Lung Association.
