He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Young and Mattie Young; and his siblings, James Harold Young and Alice Young Powell. He is survived by: his wife Lida Young (Taylor); his sons, Rob (Renee), Christopher and Glenn Young (Mandy); his siblings, Marvin Young, Clyde Young, Sandra Page and Teresa Miles (Tim); and his siblings-in-law, Georgia Taylor, Hallie Taylor, Tempie Taylor, Ersel Kennedy (Frederick), William E. Taylor (Rina May), Jerry Taylor and John Taylor. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
