He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Sayle Shappley and Ned Baxter Shappley; and his siblings, Dr. Ben Gorden Shappley and Lucy Marshall Shappley. He is survived by: his wife Diana K. Shappley; his children, Elizabeth Anne Bowers (Jeff) of Lexington, Kentucky and Ned Baxter Shappley III (Stacy) of Apex; his sister-in-law Joan Barnes Shappley of Greenville; his grandchildren, Madeline Elizabeth Lancianese (Christian), Meghan Alexandra Bowers, Noah Baxter Shappley, Harper Lucille Shappley and Oliver Benjamin Shappley; and his pet Darcy.
